Warwickshire College Group (Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell, Rugby College)
The supported learning programmes at Warwickshire College Group (WCG) can help students take their next steps into further learning, work, or greater independence, with provision available across the group's college sites in Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Each student's journey is supported through tailored, individualised support built around their specific needs, whether that's SEMH, autism, ADHD, or another form of SEND.
Sites include: Royal Leamington Spa College, Rugby College, Moreton Morrell College, Warwick Trident College (all in Warwickshire).
A standout example of SEMH-specific provision is The Cube at Royal Leamington Spa College — a specialist resource provision commissioned and funded by Warwickshire County Council for post-16 students with an EHCP, particularly those who find mainstream education challenging. Built around four guiding values — Compassion, Understanding, Balance, and Empowerment — The Cube delivers tailored support for neurodiverse learners, including those with autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs. Students with an EHCP can also access Supported Internships, a programme offering at least two days a week of real workplace experience with employers such as Waitrose, Royal Mail, Cineworld, and Warwickshire County Council, alongside one day a week at college studying a City & Guilds Employability qualification plus Maths and English, all backed by a dedicated job coach. Beyond these, WCG's wider Student Services team offers academic learning support, mental health support, and free careers advice across all colleges. For further information please contact WCG's Supported Learning team via Chris Healy, Head of Department for Supported Learning (Warwickshire), on 0300 135 6243 or chealy@wcg.ac.uk, or visit www.wcg.ac.uk.
Lamp Learning
LAMP Learning is a specialist education provision based in Leamington Spa, established in 2013 to support young people with autism and high anxiety who find mainstream education challenging. Working with 14–19-year-olds, many of whom have been out of education for some time, LAMP takes a student-centred approach, building each young person's timetable around their own interests and needs rather than a fixed school day. The provision operates across two sites — the Riverside Site (main site) on Adelaide Road, and the Victoria Lodge Site on Princes Drive — and has been recognised nationally, including with an award from the National Autistic Society.
Course options span a wide creative and academic curriculum, including NCFE and OCR qualifications in Art & Design, Computer Games Development, Music Performance and Music Technology, Photography, Theatrical Makeup (Creative Craft), Dance, and Japanese (up to A-Level), alongside GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths. Students can also access Preparation for Adulthood provision and in-house Speech and Language Therapy. For further information please contact LAMP Learning on 01926 886699 or info@lamplearning.co.uk, or visit www.lamplearning.co.uk.
Hereward College
Hereward College is a specialist further education college based in Tile Hill, Coventry, offering both day and residential provision for young people aged 16–25 with a wide range of complex disabilities and learning difficulties. Ofsted has rated Hereward 'Outstanding' for High Needs provision and 'Strong' for Skills, and every student follows a personalised study programme built around one of the college's five learning Pathways.
Course pathways include the Foundation Pathway (developing communication and independent living skills), the Explorer Pathway (combining preparation for adulthood with vocational qualifications), the Discovery Pathway (a qualification-based curriculum with coursework and external assessments), Learning for Life (a sensory curriculum focused on choice-making and communication), and — most relevant for SEMH — Aspire, a pathway specifically for young people with autism and social, emotional or mental health challenges affecting their engagement in education. Students can also access Hereward's growing Supported Internships programme, offering real work experience with partner employers alongside an on-site job coach, which often leads to paid employment. Additional support available across all pathways includes speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing support, and independent learning support.
